Epson Stylus T23 (USB) and Fedora Core 5

I've just bought a new printer Epson Stylus T23 with an USB connection, and I can't make it print almost anything, except with the "# date > /dev/usb/lp0" command or making it to print the testing diagram with the "Epson inkjet tools"

I was using an old Epson Stylus color 777 through parallel port and there was any problem. My computer is a Pentium III with 512 MB RAM. I'll appreciate any advice regarding this issue. Thanks.
