I have just upated my kernel, and in the boot list there are two FC4 on the list. One for the old version one for the new kernel. How Do I remove the old version?

This works for FC4 as well as FC3.

A simple way to remove an unwanted kernel is: yum remove <old_kernel_version>. Do this as su -
To find out the kernel versions are on your computer do: rpm -q kernel.

Here is an example of how you would remove kernel-2.6.12-1.1387_FC4:

[user@localhost ~]$ rpm -q kernel
kernel-2.6.12-1.1387_FC4
kernel-2.6.12-1.1390_FC4
[user@localhost ~]$ su -
Password:
[root@localhost ~]# yum remove kernel-2.6.12-1.1387_FC4

A lot of users perefer to keep at least the previous version of the kernel just in case something doesn't work right in the newer kernel update but it isn't required.

It is recommended to keep at least 2 kernels just in case you run into problems.

Case sensitive, or use wildcard
# yum remove kernel-*23.1-42.fc8*

This will remove kernel-devel as well.
