Bridging a wireless interface to a wired in FC8

I know there have been many tutorials / threads on this, but they haven't quite worked out for me. What I've done is installed bridge-utils, and then used brctl to create a bridge interface and add wlan0 and eth1 to that interface. I then connect my computer to my xbox, which automatically disconnects my computer from the wireless access point, and I cannot re-connect. Can someone tell me how to properly create a bridge?
