vmware is messing everyting up

hi all

previously, i had fedora 9 and vmware workstation 6.0.4 installed.. and i can't say it was a good experience.. i installed xp on vmware successfully, but here were trouble came.. my gnome windows manager became insane.. cant do anything.. eveytime i press alt, ctrl, or even shift, my window manager restarts with the bloody bug report window.. this never happens if i don't open vmware..

so i thought i made a mistake somewhere and vmware 6.0 is not friendly with fedora.. i formatted my pc.. installed fedora 9 again.. and made a fresh installation for vmware 6.5 beta.. now whenever i open a virtual machine, the alt, shift, ctrl, and caps lock bottons become dead.. except in vmware.. even if i close vmware, the issue remains.. except if i make a fresh restart for my pc.. thats when everything become stable again..

anyone have any idea about the issue or how to solve it - ofcourse, can't type a question mark here since shift is not working -
