Audio playback too fast in Fedora 9

Hi All

Not sure if it is hardware or software related.
My audio playback (ogg and mp3) plays a bit too fast.
Not quite Alvin and the chipmunks fast but pretty close.

Happens in a variety of players (audacious, rythmbox)
Running a fresh install of Fedora 9.
