F7 questions

I am usuing a hp pavilion dv1000 which has quick play buttons on top of key board that activates muteness, play, stop, pause, next, increase sound, and wireless. But since I installed Linux(fedora 7) I have been unable to use them. I cant even activate my wireless- I have been to the Network settings but it shows inactive. Please how do I activate my buttons and activate my wireless

2- my sound on banshee sound aweful compared to when I was using other windows media player, I have tried other linux media players but sound is poor-I cant even locate my sound server on the sound setting menu, is there any way I can improve my sound or adjust with an equalizer or some thing.

3- My mouse is also hyper active it keeps flipping pages unnecessary when I try to move the mouse. Can you help me overcome this problems. For the mouse I tried changing the control setting on the browser, which worked for a while and then after restarting the system the problem restarted again. So am forced to us an external mouse
