problem detecting a wireless apple keyboard

well, i recent ly bought a wireless apple keyboard and a bluetooth dongle,

to connect i tried using this forum,
    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=224673

but when i try to connect, fedora detects, but when i click connect it doesnt show up in my bonded devices,

i tried with terminal by entering command "sudo hidd --connect 00:1D:4F:A6:E9:F6"
"00:1D:4F:A6:E9:F6" being the keyboards bluetooth adress
and it returns "Can't create HID control channel: Connection timed out"

i really like this keyboard and dont feel like returning, so help would be much appreciated

    Do the binding in gnome.
THe bluetooth-applet and hidd --connect calls would not work for me until
I went into gnome and did the connect from the bluetooth-applet which causes
a popup when you bind for first time and asks for 4 digit code.
Enter 0000 or what ever from your keyboard then it is bound.
From that point forward your hidd --connect call will work in KDE or what ever.
