Launcher app

I've been trying to find something like Quicksilver (on OS X) or AppRocket (windows) for my linux box. While I'm aware that linux does have wonderful indexing of binary paths, it's a bit of a pain to track down documents or things that I just don't use very much, and with a massive 120 gig SATA drive that is (for some reason) not using libata drivers, doing a find / -iname what.have.you* can take an inordinate amount of time.

Has anyone found any applications like these Launchers/Indexers I've mentioned?

Thanks,

jeremiah
