F9 Webcam doesn't work w/ GYachI

I am running F9 and I just bought a Creative Live!Cam Optiva Pro. Fedora seems to auto detect it and install the driver.

Code:
cat /proc/bus/usb/devices
yields:

The web cam seems to work fine in Cheese while in picture mode but locks up cheese in video mode and I have to force cheese to quit.

I installed the Yahoo! Messager client GYachI and Jasper using PacketKit. When I try to run the webcam in GYachI I get the message "An error occurred at 'ioctl VIDIOCSPICT' Could not set camera properties"

I searched to try to figure out how to set the camera properties but I can't find anything. Does anybody have any ideas how to get the webcam working, or should I just wait for the bug fixes to start coming out for F9.

Thanks for any help or guidance.

Try compiling the latest svn code for the UVC kernel driver
http://linux-uvc.berlios.de/

If it still doesn't work it may be that GYachI-Webcam is using an unsupported feature. Some other apps that you can test the webcam with are kdetv and kopete.

sideways, thanks for the kdetv tip, installed it via PackageKit and my webcam seems to work fine with it. Unfortunately kopete does not show up in PackageKit, maybe they don't have all the packages built for Fedora 9. I'll think I'll wait a couple of weeks and see what kind of updates show up. I got the webcam just to play around a little bit, so a little patience might serve me well.

Once again thanks.

kopete is part of kdenetwork, sorry I should have remembered to specify that
Code:
yum install kdenetwork
To test the web cam functionality you right-click the kopete icon (top right ), select configure and go to Devices.
