what to use to see if usb device is detected.

I have been using Fedora 4 for a bit. I am trying to set up a treo with kpilot. I have tried to run lsusb but find the command is not present. Is there a new command replacing it?

Are you sure lsusb is not present? Its generally in /usr/sbin

On mine it is in /sbin. Now /sbin is not one of the normal path locations for a regular user. /sbin is one for root though. To run the command you need to do as this: /sbin/lsusb if that is where it is located.

'lsusb' is not in /sbin and 'locate' does not find it. Perhaps somehow it was not installed.

You could install the usbutils rpm.
