Question for people who are either running Fedora Core 4 or Red Hat v9. I have a Red Hat v9 server (hosted elsewhere) with ClamAV installed for mail and system scanning. I just installed ClamAV (0.87) via source on my Fedora Core 4 box at home and ran some tests. I did copy over the clamd.confg and freshclam.confg file from the Red Hat 9 box to the Fedora box without any issues. When the tests were complete the system was able to locate the 6 test files in the source directory as being infected, but the Red Hat 9 box only shows four of the six test files.
Does anyone know what may be differently installed on Fedora that may provide the additional support from Red Hat 9 used by ClamAV? What might RH9 be missing that is installed by default on Fedora Core 4? I think it did not detect RAR (v2) or BZ, are these not default packages for RH9?
