Dell Sigmatel STAC 9750 AC97 driver problem

i have a dell 1150 inseron laptop
the soundcard Sigmatel STAC 9750 AC97 will not work withthe pc speackers for somereason but if i plug in a set of head phones it works no problems

any help?
