HP Officejet 1210 scanner on FC4

I have an HP Officejet 1210 multifunction device which worked fine sanning using xsane and the setup using PTAL from the HPOJ site at sourceforge, after a fresh install of FC4 the hpoj-01.9.1 drivew wont compile, bombs out at make, now i had a look at redhats webpage and it might be because of the GCC being at Ver 4 in FC4 and version 3 in FC3? i'm assuming this..

Any suggstions how to resolve this so i can scan again, or more to the point so my wife can, and thus not keep complaining we're using linux and not XP..
