Radar map

Hello. I need help configuring the weather tool bar. I selected the area, and it updates fine, but the radar map never shows anything. Does this work? Any help would be appreciated.

If you're in the US, I recommend using NOAA radar. It is usually more up-to-date than the default one. http://radar.wrh.noaa.gov/radar/index.php
Right click on the radar image and select "copy image location". In the weather applet preferences, select "use custom address for radar map". Then paste the image location into the text box.

If you find a website that has a radar image you like better, these directions would probably work as well for that site.

Just noticed that NOAA does Guam and Puerto Rico as well.

It is something about the area. I am in north carolina. It I chosse charlotte, I get a forecast tab with a forecast and a radar map. If I choose the nearest town to me, albemarle, I don't even get a forecast tab and the radar will not work. I will try your suggestion for the radar, but I wonder if there is a more global setting somewhere that will allow me to get the forecast too? Any thoughts?

Same for me here. I'm in Greenville, NC and if I choose Pitt County airport as my location, I don't get a forecast, or weather map. But if I choose Rocky Mount, I get the forcast tab, and the radar map. Close enough, I guess.

I just noticed this project on sourceforge. I haven't tried it, but appearently it uses NOAA for the weather info. I did find that NOAA had forcast info for Albemarle in addition to the radar maps.
