Primary audio device

Hello

I am having trouble changing my default primary audio device. I'm using Fedora 3 and trying to use my USB FM transmitter as the primary audio device. Yet when I change the primary device in the sound card detection to the USB transmitter, it does not work. Like it cannot save it. It just defaults to my internal sound card. I know the FM transmitter works as when I use the cat command to output to /dev/dsp2 it outputs sound, also when
I do a test using the sound card detection tool it also works, ie transmitting sound.

I applied the patches outlined in the URL below as well.

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla....cgi?id=134316

If this problem cannot be fix is there a command line program I could use so I can redirect sound a program uses. For example run realplay > /dev/dsp2 (this doesn't work I tried a few things) . So all sound from the realplayer goes to the USB device instead of my internal sound card. I don't mind if it simultaneously sends sound to both either...

Thanks for your help!
Matt

Does it show up as an alsa device? Many apps with alsa output allow you to switch the device.

Yes it does show up. I'm not sure how to make it the primary audio device. Or to make players like realplay, pipe sound to it instead of the internal sound card.

Does anyone know a command line, command to change the default sound card rather than using the front end?
