Question Firefox will not open Internet sites

Using FC3 on a newly configured box, I can ssh into other machines in my LAN as well as other machines outside of my LAN. I can ping www.google.com, my name servers, other machines on my network, other machines on other networks, as well as my local host. I have Internet access on all other machines on my network, including a RH9 machine. Folks outside of my LAN can see my Web data. I even turned off the firewall and restarted the network. My network configuration is good and the network gui claims that the device is working ok. My network settings are correct. I have two NIC's: eth1 is active, while eth0 is inactive.

I simply cannot access any Internet site from Firefox, other than www.redhat.com.
This page and its children open just fine.
It looks up any other page that I request, then states that it is transferring data, but never does??

Sound bizarre?

Have you checked other browsers to see if it is a firefox or config issue or a hardware issue. I'm assuming that you have Konqueror on your box as well

Run tcpdump in a terminal window while you try to access somewhere other than Redhat in Firefox, and post the results here.

--edit

That would be

tcpdump -i eth1

given your situation.

The output of

route

would be interesting too.

Well, lo and behold Knoqueror opens up google, yahoo, and a few others without issue.

I am using Firefox v1.0.3 & Konqueror v3.3.1-4.3.FC3

I assume I installed a corrupt firefox package then?
Starting firefox from a shell, no stdout is returned while trying to request sites.
What course of action should I take to replace firefox using yum?
TIA!
