PDF Writer
Can anyone please recommend a PDF writer for use with Fedora Core 3?

OpenOffice.org has a built-in PDF Writer.
Simply choose "File" and "Export as PDF"

Doesn't AbiWord also have an option for converting to PDF? I find that AbiWord loads up faster than OpenOffice (Java makes it load slower).

Specially for making pdfs: Scribus. You can also get it from repositories.

Is there a way to edit PDF files though?
For eg: some of IRS forms can be filled through adobe reader but it can not be saved.
Is there a native linux software that would allow one to save it?

I think Ghostscript can write to PDF as well.
