Question APT on FEDORA CORE 1 giving 'Segmentation Fault"

I am new to LINUX and am having a great time so far and learning much. However, I have not been able to find documentation addressing this issue, and I am hoping someone might be able to help.

I have recently installed FEDORA CORE1, and have downloaded and installed the
Fedora apt4rpm package.

The install and configuration went very well, and I used APT to update and upgrade my FEDORA install. =)

The very next day, I again go to do an apt-get update and it seems to start off on it's downloading and then I get this error message:

Get:1 fedora/1/i386 release [2494B]
Fetched 2494B in 5s (463B/s)
Hit mirror fedora/1/i386/os pkglist
Hit mirror fedora/1/i386/os release
Hit mirrorf edora/1/i386/updates pkglist
Hit mirror fedora/1/i386/updates release
Hitmirror fedora/1/i386/os srclist
Hit mirror fedora/1/i386/updates srclist
Segmentation fault

I have no idea what I could have done to cause a segmentation fault. Since I last used APT I have installed and configured APACHE, MySQL, and PHP.

Would this have anything to do with the sudden ERROR?

Any assistance anyone could provide would be very much appreciated.

John,
Where did get you download apt from? Your copy of apt may have a bug.

I have had great luck with the apt rpms avialible from freshrpms (http://www.freshrpms.net) and Dags rpms (http://dag.wieers.com/packages/).

Thumbs up

I was following a tutorial on how to install APT (available at fedoranews.org), and it had a link in it that points to the apt4rpm download at fedora.us.

Thank you very much for the response, I will try these links and hopefully find better luck there.

Thanks again.

pj
