DvdStyler Plugin

I was trying to burn a dvd with DvdStyler 1.8.3 and received a message that I needed a certain codec plugin. Where might I get this software? If these plugins are not available can I get around this problem by converting to a different format before creating the dvd ( I've been converting to mpeg2 with ffmpeg ). Thanks for any information...

Re: DvdStyler Plugin

Did it say which codec. It might have been libdvdcss which most people get from atrpms. (livna used to have it, not sure what the status is with them.)

Re: DvdStyler Plugin

I get a message during preview portion of the dvd generation that says this:

Code:
Title 0 requires an additional plugin to decode this file
The following plugin is required :
DVD subpicture decoder
the output window lists this additional information:

Code:
Start preview
Executing command: totem "dvd:///tmp/dvd-out"
** Message: pygobject_register_sinkfunc is deprecated (GstObject)
libdvdread: Encrypted DVD support unavailable.
libdvdread: Couldn't find device name.

** (totem:2361): WARNING **: chapters: failed to load CMML file dvd:///tmp/dvd-out.cmml: The specified location is not supported
No accelerated IMDCT transform found
** Message: Missing plugin: gstreamer|0.10|totem|DVD subpicture decoder|decoder-video/x-dvd-subpicture (DVD subpicture decoder)
** Message: PackageKit: xid = 75497476
** Message: PackageKit: Codec nice name: DVD subpicture decoder
** Message: PackageKit: structure: gstreamer0.10(decoder-video/x-dvd-subpicture)
Now that I ran the program again to get the error message I see that after searching unsuccessfully for the plugin the dvd .iso image was actually created after the error message:

Code:
Total translation table size: 0
Total rockridge attributes bytes: 0
Total directory bytes: 4248
Path table size(bytes): 42
Max brk space used 16000
2192609 extents written (4282 MB)
Cleaning temporary directory
Generating was successful.
If I find libdvdcss ( this comes as a library with most Windows dvd viewing software ), how is this iintegrated with the dvd authoring software. I would like to be able to "rip" encrypted dvd's as well.

Ok , after trying to use the software again , I actually was able to burn a dvd. The error messages come from the Totem movie player during the "preview stage" of the dvd generation. I still want to install libdvdcss into this software , if anyone knows where to find this and how to do it. Thanks!

Re: DvdStyler Plugin

Generally, just installing libdvdcss should do it.

You probably just need the one rpm 64 bit or 32 bit depending upon your system. Download it, then run rpm -ivh <rpm_name>

http://packages.atrpms.net/dist/f17/libdvdcss/

The packages provided there should work.
