Killer Wireless-N 1102 and Wifi

Hello

I have a "Killer Wireless-N 1102" WLAN module installed on my laptop. It supports Wifi (which works under Win7).

When I do

[michael@lapbecksfed ~]$ lspci |grep Wireless
04:00.0 Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR9300 Wireless LAN adaptor (rev 01)

a different device is listed which probably doesnt support Wifi, but WLAN works flawlessly !
I just have no idea how to get Wifi working.. anyone has some advice for me?

So, are you have a wireless connection to your local WLAN right? Then, what are you trying to do? As WiFi simply means Wireless-Fidelity,

Or are you saying that in Windows 7 you have a Broadband connection because of a built-in CDMA chip or some other?

Well what I want to achieve is to create a peer-to-peer connection between my laptop and my smartphone (samsung galaxy s2), so that my smartphone shares (or better say provides) the internet connection to my laptop.

I know I can setup my smartphone to act like a wlan hot-spot which works (bluetooth would be another option).

As far as I understand the laptop must act as a "Wi-Fi Direct" itself so my smartphone will detect it when scanning for devices.
My laptop's wlan hw is capable of "Wi-Fi Direct" (Killer Wireless-N 1102) but as I said, Fedora seems to load a "generic" (?) driver for the wlan module, which probably does not support WiFi Direct..

So basically my questions are
- is the loaded driver correct, or may be there any other driver which I should prefer?
- is my understanding of Wi-Fi Direct correct, or am I misunderstanding it completly?
- what would I need to do to setup a Wi-Fi Direct, if at all possible

Okay, is there a setup program or action required in windows 7 to make the connection? If that is the case then it may not be a feature of the driver for that wireless NIC.
