    Fedora 16 Single User Mode

I installed a new graphics card (switching from an ATI to NVIDIA) and I cannot get to single user mode in order to run the commands I need to run to actually get display. I am running Fedora 16 and GRUB 1.99. Everything says to get to the grub menu, find the proper Fedora version and press "a" to append and type "single" etc... There is no "a" option. There is "e" (edit) and "c" (command line). What do I do? I googled endless to no avail. I can't figure out how to get into single-user mode and I can't get a login screen until I can run the necessary commands.

Try 'e' for edit and add a 3 at the end of the line ;-)

That should put you in run level 3, which is non-graphical with networking. If you need single user mode, you'd put a 1 at the end of the line or an s.
