[SOLVED] i5 or i7

Hi!
Because I have too much troubles with my notebook, I want to buy a new one.
What would I benefit from i7 compared to i5? Fast access? Websites opening faster?

No. You won't see any appreciable difference. Unless you are going to be doing some serious CPU intensive stuff, the i7 is a waste of money and power. The i5 will do what you need it to do with both speed and power. For the typical home user/student/office worker, running the i7 is the equivalent of using a chainsaw to cut a birthday cake.

Go with the i5 unless you're going to crunch a lot of graphics, videos or do a lot of compiling.

If you do run CPU-intensive software that can take advantages of multiple cores, then the i7 is king, but for web browsing, office programs, and even most games, the i5 will be more than fast enough. The extra cores will just sit idling and probably wasting battery life...
