Since the 3.3.1 kernel arrived in the F16 repos, my machine has been throwing a kernel panic on boot. It can still boot 3.2.10 happily, but nothing after that.
The exact error message, straight after "Loading initial ramdisk..."
PANIC: early exception 06 rip 10:ffffffff81d369ef error 0 cr2 0
This is a Dell XPS L501X, running a fully updated 64-bit build of F16.
I had thought that I would just cope with booting an older kernel until the arrival of F17, but I've just booted F17 alpha, and I get the same error. I've tried all the kernel parameters I can think of: noapic, disableapic, mce=off, acpi=off.
I've got quite a few machines lying around, and they all work just fine except this one.
Any ideas?
James

An update: I've discovered that it boots OK if I disable wifi in the BIOS! That is useful as a clue as to where things are going wrong, but not much of a workaround on a laptop...
