Epson Printer-Installation problems

Hi everyone. I have Fedora 14, 32bit OS installed. My problem is with my new Epson px730wd multifunction printer. I cannot get the scanner to scan to the pc. I have downloaded the drivers for printing and scanning but still no joy.
The message I get on the printer screen is "USB CONNECTION", I have connected the usb cable, and also tried another one, in case of faults in the first. Can anyone help please.
