SELinux issues with Chrome browser

Hello,

I have a HP Pavillion dm4 laptop dual booted with Fedora 14 = my Windows 7. I have a strange problem when I open Google Chrome. for the first time after the desktop screen appears. It displays an SE linux troubleshooting warning, however, this does not happen if I close Chrome and restart it.

Firstly, I would like to know what SE Linux troubleshooter does, and if it is not a major problem, is it possible to disable the warnings ?

I am attaching a snapshot of the picture for further clarity.

Re: SELinux issues with Chrome browser

You can disable the warnings or disable the SElinux. But before you do that you should know the implications of SElinux.

Look at the details in that message and it tells you how to get rid of the warnings.

Re: SELinux issues with Chrome browser

Depends on how you installed.

F15/16 have an updated security model that requires a relabel scan of all filesystems. If that wasn't done, then you should get lots of errors.

And informed of how to correct them.

Not a fault of SELinux, but is a configuration error.

Re: SELinux issues with Chrome browser

Strangely, I had this problem in F15 but not in F14 or F16. There was a bug report (now closed) and some fixes suggested for Fedora 15.

Another bug report had a mention about resolving this problem in a later version of SELinux security policy - selinux-policy-3.9.16-48.fc15.

While this might not be directly applicable to you, you could take a look at these for some direction. Cheers.
