[SOLVED] can't set up Wireless network

I have installed Fedora 11 on an older laptop (hp pavilion ze2000).
Its wireless card is a Mini PCI Broadcom 802.11B/G wireless LAN.

I am trying to connect to a wireless network - In the Network Manager, the option for Wireless Networks is grayed out.
I have looked for help on the web and tried various things - some commands and linux's replies:

iwconfig eth0 mode Auto
-> "SET failed on device eth0; Operation not supported"
mdprobe ndiswrapper
-> "WARNING: deprecated config file /etc/modprobe.conf....
-> FATAL: Module ndiswrapper not found."
lspci | grep wireless (which someone was saying would list my wireless card)
-> no output !!!!!!!

What can I do to configure my laptop's wireless card to be seen by Fedora ? Because I am guessing that is the problem)
What can I do to set up wireless networking ?

I have tried to connect to a wired network, to download the card - I got a message that there is an important fix required for my OS to function (it had the Broadcom in the name), I told it - sure install it - then the update installer got in the way and the "fix" - which was probably the driver for the wireless card - didn't seem to make the cut.

I don't know how to get to it again, or if that would be enough (once installed, what do I do next ?)

Can someone help ?
