Which fedora last version in Stable?

Hi to All,
Now I using Fedora 12, want to go to new version. Tell me which fedora latest version is good and well also it have bug free version.

I hope you all provide response to me. Thank a lots to you all.

CentOS is stable, no software is bug free.

Gopalsamy, Fedora is, by definition, a testing distro so there's always a chance that updates will break any version for a few minutes or a day or two. OTOH, it gives you the chance to become a bit more talented in how to keep your system up and running.

In reality, most users will have no real problems with most packages; that's what "updates-testing" is all about. There are individual cases of individual hardware or software configurations that will experience issues, many of which can be solved through Bugzilla.

In short, for security issues and to get the most out of the distro, it's best to try out the latest version (F16) and see how you like it and how it works for you.

it depends on the hardware or software you use.

i can tell from my perspective.what will happen to you , only you have to find out!

f16 is stable for me.

centos is stable but the OP wanted a fedora.

IMO, the last stable version of Fedora is 14.

All the following versions have lots of problems.

F16 seems stable to me. On my laptop, where Ubuntu (10.04, 11.04, 11.10), Debian (Lenny, Squeeze) broke in quick succession, Fedora works!

So I'd say it's stable.

(But to be honest, the breaking of the other distros were probably due to some over-ambitious customization. :P)

The "breaking" was done by the developers.

Things don't start properly, don't shutdown properly, video goes south/doesn't work, printing fails sometimes, boot fails sometimes. extension API changes with nearly every minor release breaking more.

It seems to work for very simple setups. Anything more complex and it breaks down.

I have almost no issues with F16. Tell me what "more complex" means. What more complex stuff are you adding that makes it break?

Don't install an old version of Fedora that no longer gets updates.

If stability is your priority, try Debian, or one of the Red Hat Enterprise clones like Scientific Linux. Fedora is very much a bleeding-edge distribution. That said, it may work fine for you, but try F16 rather than an older one. (F15 isn't that different but F16 is generally more stable, older pre-GNOME3 versions are end-of-life and no longer get updates.)

Vern - he has a running feud with change and he growing pains it causes. He has claimed systemctl, gnome3, X11 and the kernel are all "broken" but refuses to bugzilla the problems. Don't feed the grinch.

This has not. All that has happened is instability, configuration difficulty, and stupid tie ins.

Complex are multiple filesystems, and fileservers.

Complex are multiple distributed users.

Complex is distributed services - databases, filesystems, distributed processing.

F15 onwards has made configurations much harder, and has introduced indeterminacy in boot/shutdown of systems. It has made resource scheduling of processes harder.

The simple things that seems to have improved is single user environments. Though the scheduling difficulties don't always help, at least the defaults work fairly well.

Gnome3 has decreased general work flow in favor of becoming click happy. One benefit though has been the creation of new (or the migration to) environments that more reasonably fit peoples work.
