F14 and EOL

Hi,

I understand that F14 goes EOL 12/8/2011.
Does that mean the repo stops working on
that date ?

THX

Patrick

Re: F14 and EOL

Hello patrick013

Usually the repos stay around. Just no more updates, security or otherwise, and no new software.

I've just seen the repo for F13 still in place, but not 12. Other mirrors may have a different approach.

I read along time ago the repos closed also in about 30 days, it would be
nice if they stayed open, of course.

thanks for the reply(s)

Re: F14 and EOL

I don't think 14 has gone eol just yet, a few more weeks I think.
The repos should still be working for a long time, not sure how long rpmfusion keeps going after eol though, there's probably plenty of people out there still using 13 and older they may be able to confirm if rpmfusion is still fully functioning after eol.

Re: F14 and EOL

Here's Dennis Gilmore's, November 8th. announcement:

Quote:
Fedora 14 will reach end of life on 2011-12-08, and no further updates will be pushed out after that time. Additionally, with the recent release of Fedora 16, no new packages will be added to the Fedora 14 collection.
That said, you can certainly use it for long after that and existing packages
will be around for quite awhile.
