RC5 still sets GPT 'boot' flag on /boot

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=746895

This was never voted on as a blocker bug maybe because a patch is in the system for it, but it does not appear to be applied to RC5 live CD. I have not tested the RC5 DVD.

Despite not being a blocker, I think it's every bit as significant as 750395 and 750396. Maybe someone else can speculate on the consequences of BIOS systems having a bogus EFI System partition, and EFI systems having two EFI System partitions. That's what this bug does.

Did not make it in F16.

Re: RC5 still sets GPT 'boot' flag on /boot

So, does this mean I should use the F15 netinstaller for F16? I had to do that for the alpha to get custom partitioning to work. It had the "nice" side effect of installing legacy grub, but grub2 obsoletes it now, IIRC.

Re: RC5 still sets GPT 'boot' flag on /boot

No, in my opinion I would fix it post install with either parted or gdisk. I prefer gdisk and just change the type code and accept the default code of 8300 which actually sets the exact correct GUID for linux boot.

Alternatively you can use parted and remove the 'boot' flag on that linux boot partition, which will set the GUID of the partition to 'Windows basic data' which while not ideal is what we've got with parted until it gets updated to support the linux filesystem specific GUID.
