mt-daapd cannot scan mp3s, thus cannot start

I can't seem to get mt-daapd working, it doesn't appear to have permissions to scan my mp3 folder.

Starting rendezvous daemon
Client running
Starting signal handler
Loading playlists
Initializing database
Starting mp3 scan
Error scanning MP3 files: Permission denied
Aborting

My mt-daapd config is pretty much stock except for passwords and paths.

The path is /home/johannlo/tunes

I have chmod 774 the directory, also changed the group (stick) to mt-daapd, so I can't see why it doesn't have permissions. I have also turned off SElinux....

Any help appreciated cheers

OK even tried moving DB and music locations to same partition, chmod 777 the lot, NO DICE

WTF no permissions?!?!?!
To rub it in as far as I can tell its running as root (via chkconfig at startup)

Re: mt-daapd cannot scan mp3s, thus cannot start

BTW for anyone interested, fixed

I changed the mt-daapd config file to run the process as me (instead of mt-daapd user) and it worked.
Since SELinux is off I presume it must be some other security setting (outside of regular file/group permissions).
