NFS4 and idmapd

What is NFS4 and idmapd. They start up during boot and they take forever. They account for 1/3 of my bootup time. Can I disable them? How? I don't see nfs4 or idmapd under Server Settings --> Services. NFS is there and I disabled it, but nfs4 still loads during boot.

rpcidmapd and netfs can be disabled if you're not using NFS. I think services begining with "rpc" in their name, plus portmap can be disabled as well.

Network File System - this is a protocol originally developed by Sun and released into the public domain that allows two (or more) computer systems to share filesystems over the network.
