Fedora 15 desktop 64b "live" ... Saving?

i tried liveUSB, and unetbootin, but only universal-usb-installer-1857 (http://www.pendrivelinux.com) got me a bootable drive from my USBized PATA drive. This was for Fedora 15 desktop 64b - on their menu, and i did have to download anew from them... Maybe there is some purely CMD process to effect this? Failure was likely in the relative names from the GUI locales.

Anyway my question is now that i have a workable system how do i SAVE results? i can set up users, admins, etc but they disappear. Also even the "admin" ID cannot access root??

In theory one could get "persistence" from liveUSB (eg liveusb-creator-387) ... unfortunately this piece of software suffers from two conflicting and interlocking bugs: 1) Selecting a NON flash USB drive requires using CMD and giving input (aka --force G<colon>) 2) it can from this position no longer find the software in its "tools" sub directory, rendering it impotent. Also i could find no way of presenting this bug to the authors.

So i am left wondering if there is ANY way to get a Persistent Live USB drive from F15

If you wish to get a bug report to the developers, you report it to bugzilla

You would file it under Fedora 15, and the component is liveusb-creator.

Sigh yes i did submit a report there, bug 720527, but i am not holding my breath as both bugz are long outstanding and when both are solved maybe their interlocking nature may enable me to use liveUSB. In the meantime no.

Universal-usb-installer-1857 gives a bootable drive but no persistence.

UNetbootin is incapable of recognizing the USB drive (even when formatted fat32). Ie it does not give me that alternative either under USB or Hard Drive. So that has left me three strikes out.

Are there any alternatives? UNetbootin persistence is easier with Ubuntu and i would if necessary go with that - but unetbootin does not work. 64b is preferable as at least one machine has 16GB of ram, unusable in 32b os`s. But at this point i`d take anything.

All i need is persistence - with what i can get with Universal-usb-installer-1857
