Is forums are project mangement tools ?

Hi Everybody,

Thanks for fedora forum to tell my some ideas here.

The question is "did forums can project management tools".

I am saying that definitely can be true.

We can make it only when decide how to do it.

So each thread can be a entry which is one of the following...

1. Bugs
2. Requirements
3. Scheduling
4. Record of events
5. File folder resources
6. Team Details
7. Release Issues.
8. Task Assignment
9. Integration Issues
10. Database design
11. User interface design
12. Source code design
13. Testing
14. Resources (file folder locations, checked out by ...)

(All the details specified in each of the above is left to the developers...)...

So that each thread has only one entry which is one of the above.
And replies can be related to that entry.

So forums can be utilized as a project management tool.

So that Linux developers can start this idea and use the forums as project management tools.

This sounds a lot like a homework question.

However, although it could be used as a management tool, not sure about the granularity of access control, which might or might not be important---Leigh, or another admin (or anyone really familiar with forum software) can answer that.

There are other content management systems, such as Drupal (which includes a forum module, actually), that are probably better choices.
