Re: wierd multiple workspace behavior on dual head machine
The default is Gnome 3 workspaces only change on primary monitor.
You can change the behavior using Configuration Editor (gconf-editor) and going to /apps/mutter/general/ and un-ticking 'workspaces_only_on_primary'. Restart computer to see the change. Now each workspace covers both monitors, and both monitors change when you change the workspace. However, the workspace list still only shows the primary monitor views.
