I'm running an HP tx2500z (x86_64) with two monitors. I followed the leigh123linux's HOWTO for my case, but the newly installed Radeon control software (fglrx) cannot respond properly when I uncheck "mirror screens". I'd like to make it work, but it's more important for me to get my two separate displays back. The diagnostic I get says I'm asking for too large of a screen, saying that the largest screen size available is a square of the largest dimension of either screen (in my case, depending on which second monitor I've plugged in, it is 1600x1600 or 1920 by 1920). The required virtual screen size, in a horizontal configuration, is sum of width x largest height, obviously.
So I'd like help in either of two ways
-- first - is it possible to make the fglrx installation work properly (I do not use xorg.conf)?
-- second - how do I revert without a complete reinstall (I have a large complex installation and it takes a lot of time)
Thanks much for any help.
