How do I delete a duplicate post I made?

I couldn't find my previous posting about udev at booting, so I created a new posting with the same material. Subsequently my earlier post showed up again----or I managed to find it. I can't seem to find any information about how I go about deleting the earlier post.

Supposedly we are supposed to be able to notify the managers of abusive posts. I thought I might use that to ask them to delete the earlier post, so I will try that..


As you see, I am getting in deeper and deeper. I hope this doeesn't show up a third time

Click the "edit" button and choose delete this message. You'll have to click "delete this message" towards the bottom too.

With the message up, I see an Edit button, which when I put the cursor on it, says Edit/Delete. But there is nothing to click on to delete the message. After I click Edit, I get an editable version of the message, but again I don't see anything anywhere to click on to delete the message.

Is my forum interface not set up properly?

Click on your username and choose from the resultant menu, "find all posts by leonardevens". There they are.

The delete button should be at the bottom of the editor, two to the right of "Save"

All I found two to the right of Save was Cancel. Clicking on that terminated the Edit, but it din't delete the post.

Added later. It seems to depend on how old the post is. For example, I am editing this posting now, and I do see a Delete button two to the right of the save button.
But for other posts, it isn't there.
