im having trouble with an eSata drive in F11 on a dell studio laptop. im using the most updated kernel. the drive is an sata300 drive and it works via its usb interface but not via the esata interface. the esata controller is an ich9m/m-e sata ahci. the esata port is a hybrid usb/esata port.
if the drive is connected at bootup i get this message "ata2: COMRESET failed (errno=-25)"
this makes me think it's either a kernel issue or a bios issue. the other possibility is that the controller cannot handle sata300 drives.
any help in diagnosing this problem would be appreciated.
