Display Settings

Hello all,

Please excuse a newbie's bothering you, as I am honestly trying to learn how to work with Linux by myself, but sometimes problems still come up.

For some reason my display settings will not save, no matter how many times I change them, or configure my monitor manually. I am using Fedora 10, and I understand that there is no longer an xorg.conf file in the system. Would anyone happen to know how to make it so my settings stay and not disappear upon reboot?

try to run /usr/bin/system-config-display
if you do not have it just install it with yum
yum install system-config-display this program will crate your xorg.conf automatically !!!

Thank you. So, now that that is done, how do I add parameters for refresh rate to the file?

try this in terminal gnome-display-properties

In a terminal, type "info xorg.conf" and it will tell you how to populate the xorg config file with your settings.
