Live USB- Loads fine on laptop, but get white screen when login comes up.

The live USB works on my laptop with no problems at all. Then when I boot the live usb on my desktop it loads fine. Then when it should hit the login screen, my screen goes white. The desktop is running, you can hear the login sound being played. I have the ATI 4850. I dont know if its any help but i can run ubuntu just fine on the desktop.
