need to upgrade from fc4 to fc10

just as the title states i need to upgrade my os from fc4 to fc10

first let me say i have no physical access to the box. all i have is root ssh access to it.

So i need to know the best way of upgrading that will be safe. before i do the upgrade the server will be backed up so i will not loose any files. if the upgrade fails the data center will reload the os with what i need on it. but i would rather not have to format.

so any help would be appreciated.

i wouldnt recommend you go from FC4 directlyy to F10 without doing a clean install

then what can i do going from fc4 to fc5 to fc6 to fc7 etc will be hard since the mirrors are offline.

only thing i would recommend you doing is, baking up your Data, an download Fedora10 DvD an create a new partition during install an install F10 on that partition an then move your old data to the new partition an then delete the old FC4 partition

Demz enjoy BAKING up your data, you cook for your wife? Just kidding.

Gonna be tough.
Might have to use gparted to do some repartition(free up spaces for Fedora 10).

i couldnt care about spelling on this forum but if he were to do it the way he wanted to he would bake it for sure

that could be " fun"
i would first call on the phone whom ever is physically running the server and talk with them
and see if they can install fedora 10 ( but on a server i would go with CentOS 5.2 or red hat 5.2 )
