I'm running Fedora 10, x86_64. Today PackageKit reported that there were updates ready to be installed - I remember noticing some updates to Firefox being there. I let the updates run, but now I find that I Firefox no longer works. It opens, but says there was an assertion failure:
Code:
ASSERT: *** Search: _installLocation: engine has no file!
Stack Trace:
0:ENSURE_WARN(false,_installLocation: engine has no file!,2147500037)
1:()
2:()
3:()
4:epsGetAttr([object Object],hidden)
5:()
6:()
7:currentEngine()
8:get_currentEngine()
9:updateDisplay()
10:init()
11:([object XULElement],3)
After that, the main Firefox window is still there, but doesn't have the Firefox icon. Also, it doesn't respond to my entering any URL - when I hit enter, the assertion failure pops back up. It's a good thing that Konqueror's still there, but I'd prefer Firefox any day.
Has anybody had the same problem? In that case, has anybody figured anything out yet? In the other case, have I put my foot in my mouth? Please advise.
