Where can I download legacy releases?

So I am interested in finding all the iso's for Fedora's legacy releases all the way back to Fedora Core 6... is there anywhere that I can download these images on the offical fedoraproject website? If not, where else can I get them?

Thanks!

FC 1-6

F7-9

You have to go down a couple more levels to get to the ISOs both 32 bit and 64bit.

Just for curiosity why?

I have a complete ISO collection back to RH6. I pop them in a virtual machine every once in a while just to check things out.

A good place to check for the older Fedora Core and Red Hat releases would be your local public library unless you live in a smaller community then you'll have to "hitch up the team" and head to town. I have seen many discs still in the packages of "Linux for Dummies" or the Fedora/Red Hat Bible series at one of the libraries near(25mi) to me.

I would just hate to see JN4OldSchool do all that archive work only to have it be pointed out by some ungrateful brat in 20 years.

Do you have both the 32 and 64bit versions? What was the first (RH based) 64bit version?

All i386 versions. According to your links we know x86_64 goes back to FC2. Your link for FC1 appears empty. According to where ever I got my ISOs from it appears FC2 was the first DVD. FC1 has 3 install discs. Most of the RH versions also had 3 install discs though RH 8 had 5 for some reason. RH 8 was the first release to only have one release version under that number. RH 7 had 4 official versions; 7.0 Guinness, 7.1 Seawolf, 7.2 Enigma, and 7.3 Valhalla. RH 6 had 3 release versions. I wish I could find the ISO's for the earlier releases. I also wonder what was the first release with a CD ISO?

Here is one good link for the different versions:

Sorry for the late post... its been a while since I could get to a computer. Thank you all for your help, I really appreciate it.

@lazlow: FC6 was my first Linux expierence, and I remimber loving it. I have read great reviews for FC6, and I really wanted to get it back. I am currently on Fedora 8... I havent been quite convinced to upgrade to 9 yet... there are still a few quirks that will take time to iron out. Anyways, I almost prefer legacy releases because they are often the most stable, as they have stood the test of time, and been updated accordingly. Plus, I love adapting old technology to modern needs... so it makes sense to run an older version of Fedora... if for no other reason then to mess around with it.

Thanks to everyone again! Really appreciate it!

Keeping in mind that you cant update the old version, and also I believe FC6 has a major security flaw (you may want to research that), it is amazing how the older distros are still viable. There are a lot of people still using FC6. I like to run the old RH 7, 8 and 9 versions from a virtual machine and believe it or not they are still capable of the day to day needs of most people. RH8 was my first real intro into Linux and I still use that version with KDE with great fondness.

You cant update them via network, or the updates are just not available? Thats a bummer, but oh well, if people are still using FC6, I am sure there is a way to get it "up to date". Thanks for the tip. Just to clarify, and I am sure this is how it works, do the updates go offline after support for the release has ended? Furthermore, for a release like 8, is the Everything spin all the updates that will EVER be released for the OS, or are they still comming out with fixes for F8?

Thanks!

Having just given up FC6 and gone to F8, I can tell you that the FC6 repos are still available online. If you were to install FC6 from an original (first release) DVD, you would still be able to 'update' it online from the Fedora/Redhat repo's, up to the point when official support stopped for that release, which was about a month after F7 was released.

But you can be sure many of mirror sites for FC6 have since blown away in the wind. A fully updated FC6 install would leave you with kernel version 2.6.22.14. Serious security issue with FC6? Never heard of it, and no one ever broke into my FC6 box, which spent an awful lot of time 'online'.
