Persistence Overlay for Fedora 9 Live CD?

Would it be possible to create a persistence overlay for the fedora 9 live cd? Because i do not want to commit to a full install, and i am currently looking it to running it via a USB but do not know if my computer will let me boot from USB. So if its possible to create a persistence overlay for the fedora 9 live CD could you put it, the overlay, on the cd or a usb? Thanks

Almost all computers built this century can boot from usb, sometimes you can't see the option in the bios unless you actually have a usb device plugged in, and sometimes you have to set the usb device as the first hard disk.
