Question Creative Sound Blaster works with RH9, but not with FC2

I have RedHat9 running on one hd, and FC2.6.7 running on my main hd. Sound, cd players, etc all work on RH9, but I have NO sound at all with FC2. When I do Sound Card Detection, it will always go back to the built in sound card VIA tech, and ignore the Creative Labs SD Live EMU10K1. If I try the test sound, I get nothing.
I remember seeing a thread posted a while back on how to fix this, but I can't find it now. At the risk of being repititous, can anyone give me a clue how to fix this?
Thanks,
owa

yes if you are using a sound you have to disable BIOS sound and also open you volume control and make sure they are not muted it!

Hey, it works! Thanks.
Why is it that sometimes the most obvious answer seems to be the one we either can't or refuse to see? i.e. 'built-in sound.... enable/disable in bios!!'
It still seems curious to me that RH9 is capable of configuring a 3rd party add-on, but FC2 cannot without getting into bios settings. Odd!
Oh, well! Anyway, thank you for the quick response. (I'm an early riser, and I had forgotten that the volume control on the speakers was all the way up. And when I played the test sound, I think the neighbors two blocks away could have heard it!! It just about knocked me out of the chair!!!)
Thanks, again

Two things...first I am glad that fixed it for you. Secondly, I am glad that I am not your neighbor .
