Internet Problem FC8

I have been having issues with my wired internet connection since yesterday. It is off and on (mostly off). I have an IP and the network manager seems to think I am connected, but I am unable to connect to the web or log on a server most of the time. I can get temporary service if I restart the network manager. I am really confused by this problem. I did upgrade the kernel on 6/21, but I booted to an older kernel and the problem remained. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate some guidance on this issue.

I'd say it's your provider who's having problems, maybe some maintenance works

That is what I thought also, but every other computer on the network seems to be working fine. I have switched ports and I get the same problem.
