.bash_profile & .bashrc disappearing from /root

Ive resently reinstalled my server with fedora 8 (now 9) and Ive encountered an odd problem
from time to time the 2 login scripts .bash_profile & .bashrc will simply disappear from /root and I have no clue why this happens (the other users are uneffected).

Have anyone experienced this and if so did you find a solution ?

What you said is wire !
basicly, if you see that occur make a copy of your .bash_profile and .bashrc in case you have to restore .
but i don't understand how they can be removed because if they are inside the root home, you shouldn't have anyuser with the sufficient rights (execpt root) to remove its. So begin to use a current user which is not root and when you want to make some process do it with sudo.

should continue to use you PC anyways, and see what you doing with root which can have effect to the root .bash_profile and .bashrc.
In case you have more information , after what that happened tell us more !
