Onboard audio not working

Hi. Just installed Fedora 8 on my machine, but I can't get the onboard audio (AC'97) working . The soundcard detection utility shows two devices; PNPb006 and nVidia, but I can't hear any sound when i press the play button for both devices. My motherboard is EPoX EP-8RDA PRO. I appreciate any help :)

Bump. I tried to install a few years old nForce driver, but it needs kernel source tree. So, could someone tell how to set up kernels source code?

If you search the forums, you'll see a great many audio problems related to PulseAudio. Perhaps you should start looking at some of them.... Another good place to start looking for info is in your ~/.xsession-errors file, where you'll probably find error messages that can clue you in as to what's going wrong.
