Unhappy kvm virt-manager locating installation media greyed out

I have installed qemu kvm virt-manager in fedora 8 on my laptop in order to run a windows-only dictionary. In virt-manager, the dialogue "locating installation media" shows the "CD-ROM or DVD" radio button greyed out. Why? What am I doing wrong? Am I asking at the right place?
