Can I install old ati driver in fedora8?

Ati driver gives worse and worse quality in playing videos.
I remembered very well that one of its driver played movies very very smoothly with "mplayer -vo xv",
but the newest version of ati driver will flicker as well.

I want to install the old version, maybe 8.33.6, maybe 8.34.8.
The only thing I want to know is,
is there any possibility that I could make it work on fedora 8?

No these drivers will never work in fedora 8 due to the kernel & xorg versions.
