i'd say rpm's for fedora 5 work with no problems, faily good chance for rpm's for fedora 6 to also work fine, risky with newer fedoras (7, 8).
RHEL release is usually 1 lower than fedora, so release 4 = fedora 5, safe way to know actual RHEL "age" is to look at gnome, kde and kernel versions and compare them with fedora versions.
